5 Tips for Batching Content Without Burning Out

Codi Foster
May 5, 2025

May is Mental Health Month, and let’s be real: staying consistent on social media can feel exhausting. Between trying to keep up with trends, write captions, and post across multiple platforms, content creation can quickly become overwhelming. That’s where batching comes in.

Batching your content (aka creating multiple pieces at once) is one of the best ways to save time, stay consistent, and—most importantly—avoid burnout. But if you’re not careful, batching can also become another overwhelming task on your to-do list.

Here are 5 ways to batch content without burning out:

1. Set a Timer—and Stick to It

Don’t try to batch everything in one sitting. Instead, try a 45-minute “content sprint” where you focus on just one task—whether that’s writing captions, editing Reels, or organizing ideas.
Pro tip: Walk away when the timer ends. Rest is productive, too.

2. Theme Your Batching Days

Simplify your process by assigning themes to your content days. For example:

  • Monday, Content Planning: Use your content pillars to help you map out your posts for the following week.
  • Tuesday, Filming & Editing: Film and edit any Reels or TikToks. (Check out our full review of Instagram’s new video editing app.)
  • Wednesday, Design & Imagery: Design posts in Canva, source imagery from Dupe, or capture any necessary photos.
  • Thursday, Captions: Write captions for each post – make sure to do keyword research to include any relevant keywords or hashtags!
  • Friday, Scheduling: Upload your content to Planoly and schedule all your posts for next week. Rinse and repeat!

Grouping similar tasks together helps reduce context switching and makes your workflow feel way less chaotic.

3. Reuse What Already Works

If a post performed well once, it can work again—with a fresh twist. Repurpose top-performing content by changing the hook, updating the visual, or tweaking the format. No one remembers your content as well as you do—so reuse it confidently!

4. Keep a Content Vault

Running low on ideas? Open your content vault. Store your best stuff in one place—photos, testimonials, saved captions, video ideas, even those random voice notes you recorded mid-scroll.

✅ Pro Tip: Planoly’s Media Library is a great place to organize and revisit content whenever inspiration is low!

5. Use Templates to Cut Creation Time

You don’t need to start from scratch every time. Create Canva templates or video templates for different post types.

✅ Pro Tip: Signature content series (like “Monday Tips” or “Friday Faves”) act as built-in templates—giving you a repeatable format you can count on every week.

Bonus Tip: Automate What You Can

You don’t have to choose between being consistent and protecting your peace. Batch smarter—not harder—and let tools like Planoly do the heavy lifting.
